Thanks laika, this is an interesting read. I had been wondering how much farming experience Igarashi was drawing upon when he made this manga, since he seemed to have more firsthand knowledge than a couple months research would have given him. (Not that I have any direct knowledge of farming…)
I especially found it interesting that he says he was able to butcher the ducks without much hesitation; something that most people raised outside of farm life would find very difficult to do – particularly if they have a love of nature as deep as Igarashi clearly does.
