Back I am

Hello Readers,

If some of you followed our news - at the end of February my Acer laptop went to better hunting fields and I was left with no abilities to continue working on Scanlations. This of course affected a lot of projects as I'm taking part in most of them(most of the ongoing stuff was on laptop).

Well, GOOD NEWS. after 3 months of scrapping money(underpaid&overworked east european here) I bought MSI CR630 laptop. It does the job perfectly and I hope it holds out longer that 2 years. I have also retrieved all my files from old laptop.

Big thanks to Linus, William and Marco for chipping in and helping me buy it.
Real can't put it into words how much it means to me guys, so I will let the scans speak:

Holyland c117 (trigger on irc: !Holy117)

Some relevant updates:
Holyland - Should have a steady stream of chapters for now, but we need a Seinen translator as Molokidan quit translation.

Suicide Island - In works, I'm still deciding if I will do a volume or chapter releases.

Jackals - This one is reviving too. I just haven't gotten around to it.

Boku to Issho - Final v4 is cleaned and should be done by the end of the Summer.
-------------------

Are MSI laptops good, or am I to be expecting some troubles?

Nitouryu says hi,

Nitouryu was supposed to write a post to celebrate his return, but whatever, Latvian went to sleep instead.

Some news for those interested, I (Well, technically my good friend did) bought the following volumes this week:

-Sidonia no Kishi volume 5
-Wolf Guy volume 10
-Full Metal Panic Sigma volume 15
-Homunculus volume 15 (358 pages, btw)
-Suicide Island volume 5

My friend should be shipping them some time early next week, depending on when he goes to town.

Anyway, releases:

Holyland 114-116 (!Holy114 !Holy115 !Holy116) - Latvian finally finished up some Holyland, we get to release it. Neat.

Homunculus v12 (!Homunc12) - Just so you know, we've cleaned 1/3 of volume 13 and it's about half-translated. So depending on how fast Phaedris cleans it, we might release it by mid-June.

Itou Junji's Cat Diary (!ItouJunji) - You know last time when I said we started working on a series back in March and another group started releasing it recently? Well, this is it. The other scanlator's version is good enough if you don't wanna re-download, but my raws are better and it's higher res (I'm guessing about the higher res part.)

Mr. Bojangles (!Bojangles) - A oneshot by the mangaka of Coffee Time & Undercurrent about looking for Mr. Bo. Based off the song Mr. Bojangles, Youtube it.

I think that's all. Bye~

Story

So I brought my computer to have the HDD's exchanged (Yeah, yeah, I'm stupid when it comes to this shit, don't need to tell me) 2 weeks ago.

My HDD was dying. You know when it's a cold winter day, you try turning the car engine on and it makes sort of like a wheezing kinda sound as it tries to turn on? Well, that's the sound my HDD was doing on a daily basis. Not constantly, mind you.

So I bought two new HDDs, one as my main drive & one to be my data drive. Big ups to the Rusky Russian_Gear for finding me the hard drives. Russians are good for some things, I suppose.

I tell him, "Put drive 1 as the main drive, put drive 2 as the slave drive. Remove the old one but don't throw it out. Install Windows XP and an anti-virus." and he tells me okay, no problem.

The guy is a friend of my dad, so he does it for free, which is cool of him.

Only problem was... It took him from Thursday two weeks ago to Saturday the 8th to do that.

But whatever, I got my comp back, I'm happy.

As I'm about to open it up, my dad tells me, "Yeah sorry, the reason it took so long was because it took something like 6 six hours to copy everything on the new drive."

But I didn't want anything copied, I just wanted Windows XP and an anti-virus...

Whatever, all my settings are still there & I won't have to re-install anything I guess.

I open it up, and it's still slow. I figure it's because my main drive is all filled up with videos & music, so I transfer all of it to my data drive. Takes something like 7 hours, but my main drive is empty and squeaky-ish clean. I go to sleep.

The next day, I open the comp back up and it's still slow.

Whatever, don't sweat the details yet, I got my comp back, glad I can re-start scanlating shit again.

And then... Early in the afternoon... I hear that wheezing sound, the same wheezing sound that I complained about before I sent the comp to get the HDD changed.

So I go find the extra HDD that I stored away, and I look at the online bill for the two HDD's I bought.

The fucking technician forgot to install my new HDD & kept my old one inside the computer.

In the words of the late, great, immortal George Carlin...

What are you, fucking stupid!?

And so, here's a new release.

Holyland 113 (!Holy113)

Next release will be something we started working on in mid-March, but stalled because when I was supposed to typeset it, my dad stole my PC and another group started working on it.

Since I don't like wasting my translator & editor's work, we'll release it when it's done regardless of whether or not the other group finishes it. (It's one volume long.)

Bye.

Major announcement-

A big announcement for all three of you who care;

Our good friend & translator Molokidan is retiring from the scanlation scene. He's gotten a job as a pro translator and has since decided to focus on his career instead, which is understandable. We still have a lot of chapters he's translated that we've yet to release, like Boku to Issho, Mephisto, Holyland, Baka Chief... I'm sure I've missed a series or two. Or three. But yeah, our best translator's gone and he's leaving a big hole.

Anyway, another release today.

I doubt there'll be another this week because I'll be pretty busy with work, but maybe over the weekend.

Holyland 112 (!Holy112) - Just a reminder again that we have translations until chapter 120, which concludes volume 12. After that, we'll need a new translator. So if you know someone who's good & willing, send him our way. Thanks :)

Have a good one.
